Ronnie and our youngest son are in the middle of framing up the grandparents’ house and in their spare time, we’re prepping for the most significant winter storm to hit North Texas since February of 2021!
Its been busy and we’re ready to just enjoy a nice snow fall so we can rest by the fire and veg in front of the tv (hopefully, if power holds out), but this is Texas and there’s always sleet and ice threatening to spoil the fun, and we’re supposed to get a crazy mix of all of it, so here we go…
Enjoy this little TikTok I made of our winter storm prep (it ends with a recipe for Ronnie’s fav dinner I make – mini meatloaves with mashed potatoes). So, instead of finishing picking up stuff I need to go on our upcoming tropical vacation, and fun vacation-y stuff like getting a pedicure, haircut and highlights, we are moving bags of feed, adding and shoveling sand into low spots and throughout the barn for traction so we don’t have livestock slipping around in there like a curling match, stuffing hay nets, food and water prepping for our family and all of our animals in case of power loss (we’re on a water well, which depends on electricity) and gathering kindling to keep a a constant fire going, if we have to, like pioneer people!
…Oh well, this is Texas and that’s farm life, I guess…!
