Amaretto Cider Cocktail Recipe
This is what I’m drinking on cold evenings in the barn at feeding time, taking care of our new barn kittens, sitting in front of the fire, wrapping gifts, running around on the property in the ATV checking on Ronnie’s latest building project, etc. So versatile!

Ingredients
- Your favorite brand of Amaretto, I usually have Disaronno, but I think my local liquor store was out, so I have this one currently! It’s delish too!
- Apple Cider (the fresh kind you find in the produce section, is my choice)
- Big splash of Cranberry Juice cocktail
Instructions & Serving Suggestions
- For one or two individual cups, just nuke a cup of cider, or fill a large glass measuring cup full, if serving several portions, of however much you’ll be using in a couple of rounds. You can also heat in a Dutch oven if serving a crowd. Add a big splash of cranberry juice in the apple cider before heating, then add a few glugs of Amaretto when its warm and stir.
As almost always, I just eyeball everything, but you can use a shot glass for the liquor if you prefer. - If serving for a crowd and heating the cider in a large pot/Dutch oven, float a whole or a half- orange stuck all over (in the rind) with cloves – adds a little citrus burst to your cider and makes your kitchen smell AMAZING, at the same time. Throw some cinnamon sticks in there too, or red hots, or simmer some whole fresh cranberries in your holiday concoction. That’s how my mom and brother do it – and that is a treat!
- If you wanted to do it without the cranberry, its great too. Cider is also yummy with a shot of Fireball instead of the Amaretto. When you’re faced with the sun going down in the late afternoon, frigid weather and a million presents that sit waiting sadly for you to wrap them, feel free to punch things up with some creative mixology.
